Board of Directors Meeting?

Does anyone know the dates of the November USAA BoD meeting? Based on various threads regarding new FITA rules, tournament bids, etc, it sounds like they'll be making a lot of important decisions this time!

Good! Hopefully we'll have some answers by the end of the weekend.

I've looked all over the USA Archery website, and have not found an agenda for the meeting. There is info in several blogs about discussing this or that "at the Nov Board meeting", but nothing more specific. Do they usually post an agenda? Seems that would be important so folks could weigh in with their thoughts beforehand...

The USAA Board does not typically post an agenda (actually I have never seen one posted). It's rare that you see minutes come out as well and remember that minutes are usually pretty generic (in any organization). In addition, if items are discussed in executive session, then those items will never be posted.

As far as giving thoughts beforehand, the only time I have seen a request for input at a meeting is before the annual meeting, never before any other board meeting.

Looks like there are a lot of changes to be made this year.......oh goody goody Now I get to have some real fun I think.

Among the decisions? Age group changes made by FITA adopted
National championships will use the match format
Shooting times have been reduced

JOAD people TEACH YOUR KIDS SCORING RULES - DRILL IT INTO THEIR HEADS 'TILL IT HURTS!

Note: Score cards will be counted as a "0" if ANY part is incorrect.

not sure if that is gonna apply to joad shoots yet but I support it

it is idiotic how long it takes some people to complete their scorecards

Not sure how that'll work out, but I've seen adults that can't add too.

My advice? Make a GOOD quality calculator a perminant part of your quiver, and USE IT at EVERY tournament. Don't leave the addition untill the end; Keep up with the scoring back at the tents (not at the target please!)......it makes things at the end so much easier.

I believe the intent is to provide a reasonable amount of time for a score card to be completed, checked, signed and submitted. By being able to compile results in a timely manner, we help the archers see the results of their efforts quickly and while the event is fresh in everyone mind. Some things should not need to be said. For instance, the scorecards should not leave the venue. Also, the scorecards should be legible. The hour limit is not far removed from this type of thinking. The requirement for correct totals further reinforces that the integrity of a competition is dependent on correct arithmetic by all archers.

The Youth World Championships in Ogden went so far as to include a calculator in every score card pouch.
