You have a pretty optimistic view of these idiots to suggest that they are in any way going to be contributing members of society. Now, for the record, I'm not suggesting that we should bludgeon them with the same hammer they killed the fawn with. I do think that their act warrants a severe penalty that removes these human tumors from society for a while.

P.S. Grandparents love is a poor measure of human worth...

Reasonable men will disagree from time to time, and this is one of those times.

I would like to point out that the man who picks up my garbage, is probably not the most educated person in the world. He isn't going to set any new hygiene standards either. Surely he would not have much societal "value" in your eyes, but I would certainly miss him more than any fawn deer.
The same is true of the men who clean out my septic tank every other spring.
Even the "mop boy" at the adult cinema is serving society in his capacity.

Indeed any human life is inherently more valuable than that of an animal.

The holocaust was made possible by the attitude that some human life has no value. I'm sure you'll agree, we do not want to travel that road again.

Yep, the world would be a much better place to live if everyone esteemed others as more important than themselves. And certainly more important than animals.
