I've used FF-360's before on my VAP TKO's right helical with no problems. I think 418's wouldn't be a problem with a 2-3 degree helical. FF Silent Knights, AAE Max Stealth and Hybrid 26's, Bohning 3" X-vane, VaneTec Swift 3.15, TAC 2.75 Driver and the ole reliable Blazer work well on .166's.

 

following this post as I am going to be buying a couple different micro diameter arrows and new to arrow building very curious to see other peoples experiences, I currently own 4mm fmjs, im wanting tko's and 4mm axis and maybe 1 other

I've had really good luck with the Tac 2.75 Drivers with 2-3 degree helical.

 

I use AAE 26 with a 2 fletch right helical with my Iron Wills same poi out to 50 yards as field tips with 4 fletch

 

Blazers...I've been around the horn with many many fletchings and always end up back with blazers...easy to glue, durable , easy to find ,and reasonably priced!

 

What I run may not be the best for you? Buy several packs of vanes and do some vane testing

I do this with my broadheads as that’s what I’m hunting with. But test them out so you can see for yourself.

I like x vanes 3.5” out to about 45 yard you don’t have that much broadhead so should be fine with the 3” shield version.

I would go with Vanetec Swift 2.25 HD and 1* offset.

On the .204 arrows I shoot I’ve been using the Vanetec super spine 3”. Low profile in 4 fletch and they have no problem keeping a bunch of different heads on track.

 

I would like to see if an FFP-360 in a Bitzenburger Right Helical Jig would be able to make contact all the way around the arrow.

 

2'' TAC or fusion SL 2'' in a 4 fletch. AAE ProMax 3 fletch.

 

It really doesn't matter as long as you do not go with something too small. Your previous vanes will work just fine even if you are not able to get as much helical on them. Helical is highly over rated as long as your bow is tuned. A slight offset with any 3 inch, or 2 inch high profile vane will work just fine. If you really want to make up for the lack of helical you can just add a 4th fletch.

 

 

I have Flex fletch 300's and Tac 2.75 on my micro VAP SS's both work great

 

Do you put any offset or helical on them? What fletching jig do you use?

 

I use the Arizona EZ fletch mini max for tac 2.75 but for the flex fletch they are a tad too long so I have my shop install them with their bitz at 3° helical

 

These are black eagle x impact fletched with aae max stealth using the ez fletch minimax, it will do a 3 inch vane. Stick great. Also have used q2i fusion 3 inch with the jig

 

I use 2” TAC drivers on my 4mm Axis and 4mm Sirius shafts. I have a two degree left offset. Arrows fly fantastic.
