I have used most of the cam & 1/2's. The legacy design was/is a great cam. The cam & 1/2 Plus is a snappier improvement. Vector's and Z3's will definately squeeze a lot from any given peak weight.

Spiral's were good enough for a come back. You'd need to own/tune/shoot a set to know, but they are the best design to date for many of the qualities that make a design "good".

Predictable power cycle, easy to tune, fast.

well they are two different appilcations on very different bows, the cams on the AM are designed for a more parallel limb where as the spirals are more for a conventional limb, in my opinion i think they draw and hold nearly the same so they are very near in design characteristics(aggresive draw cycle, great wall), and they both produce awesome speed.

but in my opinion the spirals are the best cams ever!

Not for the "faint of heart" though,
Interesting comment.

I find that any major difference in the shape of the stored energy curve for a cam to feel "rough". Spirals, Z3's and Vector's all have a very similar feel, and that's not a surprise.

One thing I have done is set all of my Hoyt's at 65% letoff, even my one remaining Legacy Cam & 1/2 has a 65% mod. Seems to reduce the differences. I also find that getting a good release from a 65% letoff is easier than a 75%.

The upside to the HP cams, is the opportunity to get big bow performance from a lower peak weight. The Spiral/Vector/Z3 cams get about the same speed from my bows, as softer cams with 6-8lbs more peak weight. My 62lb Supertec has exactly the same speed with several shaft setups as my 70lb Cybertec/Magnatec had, and is much easier on the shoulders.
