Anyone own this bow and use it much?

I really like the look of this bow, looking for some feedback from individuals who have first hand experience.

Reading some things on here about cam lean issues and tuning, having to shim the cams etc, on this cam system from elite is making me unsure, so any feedback for problems on how this bow shoots and tunes
would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The Tour is a great Bow I've been shooting one for 3 years without absolutely no issues. All bows no matter the brand have some type of cam lean unless they are a shoot thru cable system. If a bow has a cable rod (bent or straight) roller guard ( stationary or flex ) side pull on the cables twist the limbs which is actually what people term as cam lean. 2 track cams are very reliable and easy to tune. Many see the slight limb twist at full draw as a big deal but in actuality it is no more a problem than a bow with a tunable yoke system that has cam lean or limb twist at brace because it has been adjusted to have no lean or twist at full draw. Both bows can and will shoot accurately and both will have some lateral nock travel just in opposite directions. Out of all the Elites I have owned and currently own I have never had to shim the cams. The most drastic thing I have ever done on any of my Elite's is to change string and cables and re-tune. Many on AT blame the bow for their short comings as an archer whether it is Elite , Mathews , Hoyt , PSE , Martin , Bowtech or whatever other company you want to insert. The best suggestion I can give you is to go shoot the bow and actually form your OWN opinion. I have shot and owned virtually all the major brands and have been able to tune and shot them well. Don't get caught up in the negative post that some of the " let me tell you " archery experts post on here as the gospel. As I said shoot the bows you are interested in and form your OWN opinion it is the best way to find exactly what you are looking for. Oh yeah I forgot to say I shoot my tour 4-5 times a week and have over 100,000 shots on it and it shoots as well today as it did when I first got it.

I love my Tour I shoot it better than any bow I have owned for spots. No issues at all with it. Very smooth draw great wall and I can let down easy if the shot dosent feel perfect.

I had two. One for indoor spots and one for outdoor spots.

Great bows. They are not speed demons but they get the job done for KD stuff. They are very forgiving. I liked mine better when I took the wood grips off and just shot off the riser.

I've been shooting a Barnsdale "My Addiction" all fall. I got it after most of my outdoor tournament shooting was done for the year so it has been pretty much just practice. I just switched things over for indoor last week and shot a 55x game

Let me back up and say a My Addiction is a customized Elite Tour. Basically Dave, the one who makes the limbs for Elite, licenses his own version of the Tour, Exact same bow except Dave upgrades for 4 layer laminated limbs to 6 layer. It is also a little higher gloss finish. That being said, I think either version is great.

The bow replaced my Hoyt Contender Elite, which says something. Limb stop draw stops are new to me but I like how they let me tweak the end of the draw cycle. I've got it holding very well now. I haven't noticed much of any cam lean and it tuned bullet holes pretty easily. I did notice now that I have it set up with fat arrows and large fletchings (vs my skinny outdoor arrows) that I will need to move the cable slide rod over just a little to get the fletchings to clear the cables. Not sure how much affect this will have no lean, but it doesn't have to go far.

I started a thread in the Barnsdale section of the forum with a few details and photos.

Not trying to say you should look at the Barnsdale, just wanted to post a review for you since they are basically the same bow.

Mitch

P.S. I like the feel of the Elite enough I'm probably going to sell by Carbon Matrix for an Energy 35 as soon as season is over.

No problem. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Like I said, the Addiction is an "upgraded" Tour, but I'd believe the standard Tour is a darn nice bow as well.
