I am from Pennsylvania but have done a bit of hunting in North Carolina. I don't remember when archery season opened there but I know You South Carolinians were earlier. Actually Your gun season opens end of August correct? Question, I assume most of Your hunting that early is done in fields in that heat? or do You guys get back in the woods and swamps with all those SNAKES and BUGS when it is that hot? I remember hunting N. Carolina and when it was really hot I stayed in the "field stands" only. I "don't do so well with snakes"! They can make me cry like a little girl:embarres:. Damn, I hate this thread. Sitting here thinking has me wanting to rejoin my club and go back down south this year!

Pennsylvania Here and it is "too many". I don't get as "psyched up" for it as I once did because the hunting has really gone bad in the past 10 years. Plust I don't hunt anymore until November, so TOO LONG!

Oct. 13 here I think and I still need to get a new climber , a range finder , a new bow and some quality optics. I would like to be in the stand opening day with my new xlr8 but the outback will still pile'em up. I have a good pair of Lacrosse snake boots that I bought new for 59.99 when Sportsman's warehouse went out of business in Tallahassee FL. I do have a therma cell also. I could hunt right now with my current gear minus a range finder but it sure would be nice to have new gear................HD
