Stay Sharp sharpening guide troubles...suggestions?

I got my guide last week and was eager to get some dulled Magnus Stinger and Ser-Razor blades touched up. However, when I got it assembled, and knowing that it could take some playing around to get the blade touching the sand paper just right, I couldn't get it to actually touch the blade edge. All I can get to touch the paper is the side of the broad head blade, just where the blade angles down to the sharpened part. Any tricks of the trade that anyone can suggest?

did you buy the guide for Stingers and the Other guide for the Ser-razors.

For Stingers and buzz cuts you will want to use the iron will guide as shown below.

For black hornets and Ser-razors you will want to use the Replaceable blade guide.

Which guide did you buy? How much blade exposure are you using? did you what the videos? Give us a call and we will help you any way we can. Email pics of what your doing do we can help diagnose the issue. Usually is an exposre thing or the user is not making sure the cutting edge is parallel to the jaws.

Ah hah! I have the black guide, specifically for se-razors. I haven't even given the ser-razors a try yet, not realizing that the stingers and ser-razors were that different. Oops. Glad there's an apparent easy fix! The ser-razors are what I got the guide mainly for anyways.

Its always best to ask the manufacturer via phone or email any time you have a product related question. Asking strangers on a chat room will most likely increase your frustration rather than solving your problem. Im glade that as the mfgr, I was here to help.

PM me your mailing address and I will send you a replaceable blade guide (black) for your other blades. No charge.

I believe it! Just figured I was missing a minute detail or something easy. Glad it was! Thanks for the help!

Just a quick question. Any reason to use red compound vs green compound for touching up the serations on the black hornets? I've got green and grey compound just want to know if they're abrasive or too abrasive for the task.

I got a guide to sharpen my Exodus blades. First few tries were very frustrating then I watched the YouTube video and experimented with different sandpaper and a leather strop to finish.
Now I can get the blades shaving sharp. It's a good tool but takes a little while to master.

Guessing it is what sparked it but there is a good video w Ranch Fairy and the Hunting Public up on YouTube now.

I have one and agree with the sentiment there’s a learning curve BUT there is with sharpening in general as well.

If you read the Thread it was the wrong jig. The manufacture fixed it for them. This Thread is 2 years old and the problem was corrected.

I use the jig for the 4 blade Muzzy and love it.

The THP and Ranch Fairy just did a video. I enjoyed watching those Dudes.

Good luck everyone.

Yep I posted several years ago see post #8. I'm glad THP and the Ranch Fairy are bringing awareness to the common bow hunter...… Hopefully people will start getting their broadheads scary sharp again.
